Privacy Policy
A plain-English explanation of what data PPH Autopilot touches, where it goes, and what stays entirely on your own device.
- PPH Autopilot does not collect, store, or transmit your data to us. Your profile, settings, and AI key live only in your own Chrome browser.
- When writing a proposal, your browser talks directly to your chosen AI provider (ChatGPT or Claude). We never see that traffic or its content.
- We don’t sell data, because we don’t have any data to sell. There’s nothing on a server to leak, lose, or hand over.
- Payment for your one-off £29 purchase is handled by our payment processor, we don’t store your card details.
1. Who we are
PPH Autopilot is a Chrome extension and accompanying website (this site) that helps freelancers find and bid on PeoplePerHour jobs. This policy explains how we handle information in connection with the extension and the website. Throughout this policy, “we,” “us,” and “PPH Autopilot” refer to the makers of the extension and this site.
2. What information PPH Autopilot uses
To do its job, the extension needs certain information from you. Here’s exactly what it uses and why:
| Information | Why it’s needed |
|---|---|
| Name, location, mobile number | Personalises the proposals written on your behalf |
| Skills & bio text | Used by the AI to write relevant, tailored proposals |
| Your AI provider key | Authenticates requests to ChatGPT or Claude on your behalf |
| Bid settings (tone, budget, categories, countries, scan frequency) | Controls how and where the extension scans and bids |
| Job data found on PeoplePerHour | Displayed to you in the dashboard while the extension is running |
None of this is collected by us. It’s entered by you directly into the extension and used locally to perform the functions you’ve asked it to perform.
3. Where your data is stored
Everything you enter, your profile, your AI key, your settings, and any job data the extension finds, is stored using Chrome’s local extension storage, on your own device. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or backs up this information.
4. How your AI provider is involved
When the extension writes a proposal, your browser sends the job brief and your relevant profile details directly to the AI provider you’ve connected, either OpenAI (ChatGPT) or Anthropic (Claude), using the API key you provided. This request goes straight from your browser to that provider. It does not pass through any server we operate.
Your AI provider’s own privacy policy and terms govern how they handle that request. We’d encourage you to review whichever provider you choose to connect:
- OpenAI’s privacy policy, available at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
- Anthropic’s privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy
5. How PeoplePerHour is involved
The extension interacts with PeoplePerHour’s website inside your own browser, in the same way you would manually, to read job listings and submit proposals using the account you’re already logged into. We do not receive a copy of your PeoplePerHour login, your messages, or your account data. Your relationship with PeoplePerHour, and their handling of your account information, is governed by PeoplePerHour’s own privacy policy and terms of service.
6. Payment information
PPH Autopilot is sold as a one-off payment for lifetime access. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store, see, or have access to your full card details, these are handled entirely by the payment processor in line with their own security standards. We retain only what’s necessary to confirm your purchase and provide support if you contact us about an order.
7. Cookies & website analytics
This website may use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand general traffic patterns, such as which pages are visited, so we can improve the site. We do not use this data to build advertising profiles, and we don’t sell or share it with third-party advertisers. If we use any cookies for this purpose, they’re limited to what’s needed for basic, aggregate analytics.
8. Your rights and choices
Because your data lives on your own device rather than on our servers, you’re already in full control of it:
- Access or review: open the extension’s Settings tab at any time to see exactly what’s stored.
- Edit: change any profile detail or setting directly in the extension whenever you like.
- Delete: clear individual fields in Settings, or uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data at once.
- Revoke AI access: revoke or rotate your API key at any time directly in your AI provider’s dashboard.
If you have questions about your rights under applicable data protection law (such as UK GDPR), please get in touch using the details below.
9. Children’s privacy
PPH Autopilot is intended for freelancers and other adult users of PeoplePerHour. It is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the extension’s functionality changes. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we do. We’d encourage you to check back periodically, particularly before making a purchase.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how PPH Autopilot handles information, please get in touch via the contact details on our website. We’re happy to answer any questions directly.
